How to reach us
The message box on the Ko-fi page is the reliable channel and goes straight to the developer. You do not need to tip anything to send a message there.
What to write about
- Something is broken. Include your browser and version, your operating system, and roughly what the tank was doing. Rendering bugs are often specific to one graphics driver, so those details matter more than they look.
-
Performance is poor. Add
?debugto the address (oceatics.com/?debug) to show a frame rate badge, and say what number you see. Oceatics targets 60 frames per second and lowers its own quality below 45. - A species request. Every fish is generated from spline data, so new livestock is real work but not unbounded work. Suggestions for the stocking list are welcome.
- Press, licensing, or using Oceatics on a screen in a public space. Running it on a display in a shop, clinic, classroom or office is fine and needs no permission, but say hello if you do, it is nice to know where the tank ends up.
- Privacy questions. The short answer is on the privacy page: nothing is collected. Anything that page does not answer can go through the same channel.
About the publisher
Advancing Development is an independent one-person software practice that builds small, self-contained web applications. Oceatics is its procedurally generated saltwater aquarium: 128 fish, seven species, no downloaded assets, no accounts, no ads. More detail is on the about page.
Oceatics is free. If you want to support it, the tip jar is the same Ko-fi page linked above.
